When I read this story I was shocked. Southwest Airlines almost threw her off a plane because she was dressed "too provocative" for their "family airline." Of course, there is no dress code for the airline. Someone complained and the male flight attendant just decided to tell her she couldn't fly in that outfit. He eventually said it was OK if she pulled the top of her sweater together and pulled down her skirt as far as she could. She was humiliated.
If that is the case then no college student in Boston should be able to fly.
What do you think? Too sexy to fly?

The photo is from a Today Show appearance. As she sat down you could see her underwear. And I thought that Matt Lauer wimped out by not asking if in the age of Britney and Paris she was wearing any that day. But yeah, Southwest was unreasonable.

I did watch that clip, and yes, I could see her undies as she sat down.
But I guess I don't think that showing undies is obscene. Poor taste, but not enough to be thrown off a plane. Now the parents who allow their kids to kick the back of my seat the entire flight, they should be tossed off.
And as you suggested, at least she was wearing some (at least on the Today Show).
Having recently travelled, I don't know how anyone can see anything (even under a short skirt) once you are seated for your flight. If you saw the interview, she said she received compliments on her return trip....
Totally rediculous in my humble opinion. She paid for her ticket and the airlines admitted they don't have a dress policy for their customers. So what's the problem? I smell a lawsuit. I'd fire the flight attendant.

That is true. Unless you are seated directly across from her, how can you even see up her skirt? You are just seeing legs, and I've seen people in shorts showing as much.
And I loved that she got a compliment from another flight attendent on the return trip.

She said initially she just wanted an apology, but none was forthcoming, so she got a bit pissed off about it.
I don't get it either.
Well, she can sit next to me any day. But I'd be embarrassed to be caught ogling her in the next seat.

YES! She is way to revealing to be on an air plane or even in public. She is also old enough to know better.
Obviously that video of her pulling her skirt down to obscene levels and still not hiding her panties from view on national TV when she knew she had to.
That was proof enough!
How ever if it were the mile high club flight she would fit right in.
The air line was correct in it's actions the other passengers complained and rightfully so!
Please! It's nobody's business as long as everything's covered. Throw off the passenger who complained!!

I wonder what did happen with the complainer. S/he never came out as the one who complained, so I wonder who it was.
I've seen worse on Southwest in past. It's an eye of the beholder thing, but I think humiliating the girl the way the attendant did was way out of line.
If the airline had no dress code policy, and had no catch-all "we reserve the right to deny service" type of clause, then they had no basis to do much of anything. Unless she was buck nekked .. that would most likely have caused many other problems. (If the plane is a rockin don't bother knockin) hee hee :)
How much does an apology cost? And how much does not apologizing cost? It could be a lot if she tries to push things, which a simple apology would have abated.
